According to our sister newspaper, Ultima Hora, the woman was detained by police on Wednesday after her husband told officers that he had been poisoned.

He allegedly went to a Palma hospital where staff found traces of poison in his blood. He then went to the police and his partner was detained shortly afterwards.

Yesterday evening she was expected to go before a judge to be questioned at the main law courts in central Palma.

Palma police detectives continue to investigate the case and at the moment there are few more details. The couple had been married for some time and lived in Palma.
